Davis Property & Investment is pleased to announce Emish Market & Café as the operator for the market and grocery store at Davis 70 opening in Spring 2020 at the corner of NE 20th Street and 70th Street in the City of Fife. While the name is new, the operator is a name the Fife community will recognize as they were previously known as Kusher Bakery. Emish Market & Café is 100% owned and operated by Anatoliy and Maria Zaika who immigrated to Tacoma 15 years ago from Ukraine. Together the Zaika’s opened Kusher Bakery in Federal Way and later moved to the City of Fife. Anatoliy’s new market and grocer concept to be named Emish Market & Café will be a combined bakery, café, and grocery store featuring American and Eastern European grocery goods and will serve sit-down or take-out breakfast and lunch that is fresh, wholesome, and affordable. The Emish Market & Café name is driven by the Zaika’s wish to “accomplish something outstanding” and to do something very worthwhile for the community by providing the best quality food and service and becoming one of Fife’s favorite shopping and gathering places. Davis 70 is owned and developed by Davis Property & Investment (DPI) in cooperation with the City of Fife to bring a long overdue grocery store to Fife. In addition, DPI is constructing a 55,000-square-foot warehouse adjacent to Emish Market & Café and is available for lease. Construction started in early July with an estimated completion of Spring 2020.
